It is one of ten local authorities that make up the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and is the ninth largest metropolitan authority in the country with a population of 322,000.

What did we offer?
Two years ago, Wigan councils employees were purchasing over 5 pairs of safety boots per year. Wearing uncomfortable boots, suffering with wet feet and wearing down the outsoles within weeks.
They then came to Rock Fall, and within the first year reduced their commodity spend in excess of £10,000. It is widely recognised in the council that there has been significant savings.
The wearers of the boots are a lot happier; being able to wear their safety boots for an 8 hour shift with no problems. Walking approximately 9 miles per day.
